I am a full-time Librarian II, Circulation Supervisor, at a high-volume, fast-paced and nationally ranked public library in Richardson, Texas, a north Dallas suburb.
Prior to this, I toiled more than 5 years as an academic librarian at El Centro College in the historic West End of downtown Dallas, Texas, managing library circulation services for the college's 3 locations. For 2 years I was also an adjunct professor teaching information technology courses.
Prior to that, I toiled 4½ years at the same Richardson Public Library, where my library career began in September 2000. I came to library service after teaching in a public high school for 3 years, earning a national outstanding teacher award. In the beginning, though, I proudly served our nation honorably and with distinction for more than 20 years in the armed forces as a military policeman and decorated veteran of the 1990-91 Gulf War.
I was raised and educated in Texas, growing up in beautiful San Antonio. I earned a Masters degree, with honors, in Information Science from the University of North Texas at Denton. I am a summa cum laude graduate of Midwestern State University at Wichita Falls where I studied political and social sciences.
I have lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex since 1997 and thoroughly enjoy all of the vibrant sights, sounds and experiences of modern urban living in America's 4th largest metropolitan area.
